Vintage Fiddling in Eastern Kentucky
The music played by traditional fiddlers in the Appalachian region of Kentucky originated in the British Isles in ancient times. The musicians interviewed for this series learned to play their instruments before recording and broadcasting technology became widespread. They reveal how fiddling and fiddling tunes were passed from one generation to the next and discuss their lives, families, careers, and music. The interviews are on audiotapes that also contain performances by the musicians.
