COVID-19 in Kentucky Oral History Project

The Kentucky Oral History Commission received funding through a Kentucky Humanities Council CARES Grant to document the COVID-19 crisis through the diverse experiences of Kentuckians. This project sought to deepen humanity’s research on the global pandemic for future researchers while providing an outlet for Kentuckians to process their shared experiences. For the initial interviews, KOHC accepted proposals from oral history practitioners with an emphasis on the experiences of healthcare workers, grocery store employees, and other essential workers, teachers and school administrators, small business owners and demonstrators who participated in the George Floyd protests during the summer of 2020.
