Career Waitresses: Rethinking Work and Identity
Five interviews that record the stories of career waitresses who work in diners and coffee shops throughout the United States. Most of the women interviewed are aged 50-84 years old and have been working in roadside restaurants, coffee shops and diners for up to 60 years. The interviews examine the many aspects of the work, including the physical and psychological labor involved and the stamina required to stay at the same restaurant for decades.
