Anderson County Oral History Project

Anderson County, Kentucky, interviews contain discussions about the cities of Lawrenceburg and Van Buren. Funeral practices, entertainment, an automobile dealership, and a county fair for blacks are other included topics. Narrators talk about Court Day, when farmers and merchants traded and sold their products, and local celebrations. They also discuss the Kavanaugh Academy and Rhoda Caldwell Kavanaugh. Ann McWilliams, Tony Wright, and Kim Lady Smith conducted these interviews in 1976, 1978, and 1981.
