Interview conducted by Amber F. Ridington with David Dye in which he tells about learning music from his father and other family members and about playing upright base, guitar and fiddle with numerous Bowling Green area groups including Joe Marshall and his Rovin' Ramblers, The Dusty Road Boys, The Grayson County Boys, Curtis Burch, and the Hays Brothers. He also tells about the 40 year tradition of music jams at Dye's Barber Shop that were started by his uncle Ed Dye, and that continue to this day, and about his uncle Wandell Dye's performances at the Quonset Hut in Bowling Green in the 1940s and 1950s as a member of Joe Marshall and his Rovin' Ramblers.
