Rev. Harvey tells of coming to serve a church in Paducah, then founding another one, starting the Non-Partisan League which worked toward the integration of public accommodations. He describes his decision, as a Black man, to attend a Ku Klux Klan Rally, where the permit required it to be open to the public. He tells of other KKK activities, but notes that they never got a foot hold in Paducah. Harvey tells how he was elected to be a City Commissioner by campaigning in the White community as well as the Black. He feels his biggest accomplishment was opening employment opportunities.
