Smith Meredith discusses his experiences as a stone mason in the CCC at Mammoth Cave National Park, Camp 4. Topics include the Depression, barracks, the salary system, working as a barber in camp, the blacksmith shop, buildings in the camp, racial tension, dating local girls, CCC relationships with the local community, effects on the local economy, problems with the CCC, and work after leaving the CCC.
