She discusses being driven to school in a car since it was too far to walk. She shares memories of family reunions and homecomings. African American neighborhoods she discusses are Bomar Heights, The Pike, and Gradyville. She also explains how to smoke meat in a smokehouse. Her parents were Christine Payne and Wiliam Payne and she was born in 1965 in Adair county.
