Catholic Chaplain and Athletic Coach at Ormsby Village (1940 - 1950). First Chaplain at Ormsby Village. Hired by county and lived on campus. Recalls ratio of dependents to delinquents higher in the beginning, but then equaled out. Had good working relationship with Protestant Chaplain. Parents determined children's religious affiliation. Held joint semi-religious service once a year on Thanksgiving. After a year, took over athletic programs after coach was called to the army. Left Ormsby Village to found Boys Haven. Believed it was unfair to mix the dependents with the delinquents. Took major inspiration from Ormsby Village when structuring Boys Haven.
