28 minutes. In 2001, Karen Conrad became the first woman Circuit Court Judge of the 12th Circuit Court, 1st Division covering Henry, Trimble and Oldham Counties. Graduating with a Spanish degree one of her first tasks she had was translating legal American Air Filter contracts and became interested in the law. She applied to Louisville Law School and received a scholarship. From 1988 to 1997 she was a hearing officer and worked as a Domestic Relations Commissioner and later she became a Family Court Judge. Judge Conrad enjoys traveling to South America and other places where she can use her second language.
