66 minutes. Rev. James Washington talksabout his family history and growing up in Lexington, Kentucky. He discusses becaming an ironworker apprentice in Louisville, Kentucky and working on buildings made of concrete and steel. He also discusses volunteering spiritual guidance to men in a drug and alcohol recovery program. He witnessed fights between blacks and whites. He took human relations courses in the Marines and became an instructor to help with cultural differences. He is the son of Frances Cherry and James T. Washington. He was born in Lexington, KY in 1948.
