Chester Grundy reflects on the oppressive situation he and the 50 Black students found at UK in 1965, how they organized Orgena for social survival and later the Black Student Union for political change: recruitment, retention, courses etc. He remembers inspiration and support from various individuals and organizations, contact with BSU's on other campuses, and the KY Kernel Newspaper. He talks about his and his wife Ann's commitment to change, their meeting and their African wedding celebration, her leadership and community contributions. Transcript available.
