Whitehead talks about his activity with Ashland Corporation assisting people who were being discriminated against as employees in the communities where they worked. To help with employment and housing concerns in Ashland, he started a chapter of the NAACP. He became more involved with the National NAACP, served on its Board and helped improve their financial situation. Whitehead recalls how he got involved with Kentucky State University while recruiting for Ashland Corp. and ended up Chairing the Kentucky State University Foundation. Transcript available.
