The Paul Sawyier Public Library Oral History Project contains 37 interviews with librarians, volunteers, community leaders, and patrons of the Paul Sawyier Public Library in Frankfort, Kentucky. Interviews stress the role of women in founding and staffing the library since its inception in 1908. Narrators discuss the library's role in the Frankfort and Franklin County community and the library's collaboration with other organizations and individuals. Interviewees also address libraries' relevance in an increasingly digital age and how technology has changed library practice.
