The collection records the changes at the McDowell House Museum in Danville, Kentucky over the last twenty-four years since the last oral history project, based on the house's restoration. It also focuses on women's medical history in the region, in honor of Dr. Ephraim McDowell's great discovery in women's medical history. The project includes interviews with modern doctors about the surgery performed 200 years ago by Dr. McDowell when he performed the first successful surgery to remove an ovarian tumor.
